Reflections in a stagnant pool

Scrying the future in fetid black water
the smell of humanity is there
abominations to behold and puzzle over
for they are the works of their breed

History/Biography:
With gentle hands, an intelligent mind and a heart of gold, Rin was born to save others. Fated to be a doctor. A great healer. And angel of Hope.

That wasn’t going to happen though. Life for Rin was rough for the earlier part of her childhood; her mother had left her and her father when she was only ten. Though they cared for each other, her father was irresponsible, often times smoking or found drunk and passed out on their living room floor. By the time her teenage years came by, Rin quit school and forced to work two jobs to support her father and herself.

She saw her father’s death before it actually happened. He had died months later due to lung cancer.

Since she was young, Rin could see what, which could not be seen. She could hear what, which could not be heard. And at times she knew what had yet to happen. But her father’s death was the first one she had ever foreseen. Before she believed her visions to be a gift, yet it was the first time in her life that she could ever call it a curse.

Even so, as time past and years moved on. She was young, but she had little money and little time for education and dreams. She became a fortune-teller with a small shop at the end of the streets next to the ice cream shop, left to tell others of hope, dread and dreams.

Powers/Abilities: Rin has an incredible, yet at the same time, limited ability of higher level sight. She can see lost souls and even sense of great beings for dark and light; however she has very limited knowledge of the world of angels and demons. Despite the fact that Rin doesn’t have a powerful physical ability, she has an incredibly valuable and useful gift to see the future and there are only certain times she is able to actually use it by will.

Personality and Beliefs:
Rin is naturally sweet person, always willing to help those in need. It's natural instinct to her. Though her outer appearence has always shown to be kind and smiling, she can be very cynical at times and even lost.

She isn't a religious person and there is much to believe that she does not even believe in what she practices. As her belief in God, there is very little. Her life has been difficult for her and as she grows older, her prayers are always left unanswer and so she loses more of that innocence and faith. And so she has no one to really rely on herself besides herself.
